Bowl for Kids’ Sake (BFKS)
Bowl for Kids’ Sake serves as Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida’s largest fundraising event. Bowl for Kids’ Sake is a signature event of Big Brothers Big Sisters and is held nationally by several Big Brothers Big Sisters’ local agencies. Through Bowl for Kids’ Sake, community partners, clubs, organizations and corporate partners agree to gather a team and bowl for a cause! Bowling teams consist of (6) bowlers, including a team captain. The minimum amount to raise per team is $600. After weeks of fundraising among team members, a huge party to commemorate our fundraising success is held at a local bowling alley! The party is complete with a theme, DJ, give-a-ways, prizes, raffles and of course – bowling! For more details and to sign up your group, visit our Bowl for Kids’ Sake fundraiser event page here.
We offer internship opportunities in our office within our Fund Development and Program departments.
Our students love reading, and according to the Institute of Education, reading has positive effects on youth and promotes scholastic achievements. Help us collect an array of youth books for children ages 6-18 to help support our students’ joy of reading!
School Supplies Drive
Gather a team and help us collect much needed school supplies for our students. See a list of requested school supplies here.
During the holidays, we partner with local businesses to collect toys for our youth. Your donation of toy items could possibly be the only holiday gift our children receive during the holidays. We ask that gift items do not exceed $50 and we kindly ask that only actual gift donations are made – please no gift cards or gift certificates.
Sponsor a Family for the Holidays
Thanksgiving – Provide a healthy, nutritious meal to a family in need during the Thanksgiving holiday. Whether you’re an individual looking to support a small family or a corporate group hoping to provide food for a large family, your help is greatly appreciated.
Holiday Presents – Spread holiday cheer by gifting a local child items from their holiday wish list. We kindly ask that gift cards are not provided to the children. We suggest individual gifts to not exceed $50.
Please contact our Director of Community & County, Michelle Patrick at email@example.com for additional details on assisting a family during the holiday season.
