Warren’s Retirement

Warren’s Retirement

Dear Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida Family:

Over the course of the past year, the Board of Directors of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida has been thoughtfully engaged in some of our most important work, succession planning. On Thursday, June 8, our Chief Executive Officer, Warren Grymes, announced his retirement after his dedicated service to Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida for more than 13 years. Warren’s retirement will be effective June 30, 2017. Our Board of Directors approved Warren’s recommendation to promote Sara Huke Alford, current Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida Vice President of Programs as Chief Executive Officer effective July 1, 2017.

Warren’s legacy here at Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida is one filled with fond memories and much success. We appreciate Warren’s service to not only our agency, but to local students and our community.  Big Brothers Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida is grateful to serve as a leader in youth mentoring and academic excellence in Duval and surrounding counties for over 100 years. Warren has provided a solid foundation that Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida’s staff, volunteers and supporters will continue to build upon for the next 100 years.

Although we are sad to see Warren go, we are excited to have Sara Huke Alford, the current Vice President of Programs serve as incoming Chief Executive Officer. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida is confident, along with Warren and fellow Board Members, that Sara will continue a legacy of personal commitment of achieving the highest standards of excellence and service to our community.

Sara has been with Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida for the past 10 years and has advanced in her career from Quality Assurance Manager to Vice President of Programs, and now finally, to Chief Executive Officer. Sara holds degrees from Jacksonville University and New York University.

As Warren prepares for retirement, he has plans to travel and spend more time with family. If you would like to send kind words to Warren, please direct them to info@bbbsnefl.org.

Please join us in welcoming Sara Huke Alford in her new role as CEO of Big Brothers Big Sisters of Northeast Florida.

Sincerely,

Jason Spencer
